Q2 Burnout

Feeling more tired lately?

Feeling more tired lately?

Finding yourself spending more time doomscrolling on social media?

You might be experiencing Q2 Burnout – a state of exhaustion that hits in the second quarter of the year, around April after going all out at the start of the year.

The tricky part? Often, you don't notice it creeping up on you. Energy levels drop slowly, maybe you get sick more often, spend more time on social media without realizing it, slack on workouts, or sacrifice sleep quality.

Burnout doesn’t happen overnight. It slowly creeps in until one day you find yourself completely overwhelmed, drained, and emotionally exhausted.

Burnout is counter-productive. We want to prevent it at all costs. That's why we preach working smart, not hard.

🗝Actionable tips

Less = More
Remove non-essential tasks from your to-do list. Embracing the concept of "less is more" by prioritizing essential tasks and letting go of non-essential commitments, we create space for meaningful work and rejuvenation.

Ask yourself :
What if I could only subtract, instead of adding things to achieve my goal?
What are the 20% tasks that will lead to 80% of the result? (Pareto Principle)

Practice Deep Play
What I call Deep Play is simply time-blocking play for a focused chunk of time without work or any distraction. It’s the best kind of fun, without any feeling of guilt. If you’re curious, I made a whole podcast episode about it.

Ask yourself:
What non-productive, fun activities can I schedule in my calendar and dedicate at least one hour to in the upcoming days?

Quick share: I’ve stumbled upon Josh Schachnow’s newsletter, an excellent read in which he’s sharing what it’s like building a tech business - in less than 5mn/week. Highly recommended!

While getting started with this newsletter, I apparently messed up a few settings causing some posts to miss inboxes or be marked as spam. Make sure to move this newsletter to your main inbox. This way you’ll never miss an update.

Also, feel free to let me know what would make this newsletter priceless for you, by replying to this email! What specific productivity-related challenges do you have recently?
